Artist's Comments

Here in Colorado, we sometimes have severe forest fires. The ash and smoke can cause the sky to look orange-red, boiling and fierce.

My brother and I happened to glance out the window yesterday and noticed the vibrant yellow light outside. We figured there might be a fire and went outside to see if we could spot anything. It wasn't a fire (that we could tell), merely a perfect combination of sun and clouds and the right time of day. It was so gorgeous, I had to snap a few pics.

So Colorado, 11/20/06, near sunset. Photo (not a painting), with no alterations whatsoever.

Thank you very much, but the Colorado sky did most of the work. ;) I just happened to walk outside at the right time with my camera.
