Someone asked about how I made my tail (for a cosplay/fursuit I have yet to complete). Next time I employ this method, I'll try to take better (and more) pics, so perhaps another tutorial will be made in the future. But, here's how I make tails so they can be bend them into the desired position.
I'm toying with a better system for the part that attaches to the belt. I don't quite like the naked, exposed wire (although unavoidable in this case).
This it basically how I make my pose-able skinny tails too. I find that if you braid the wire that goes in the tube you get better stability and bounce in your tail (just a little tip from maker to maker)
I think I did braid it (or, at the least, twist it), but I couldn't remember and I had no pics of that part (made the tail in one day over four months ago), so I didn't want to say I did. The first time I did with this method, I didn't braid/twist and it worked okay (it was a smaller tail, though).
Next time, I will do better documentation... and post quicker so I can remember exactly what I did.
Glad to know someone else vouches for this method. I'm going to try a really big tail using this method (modified a bit). Ever tried something like that (and willing to pass on what did/didn't work)?
Well, it was worth asking. I'm guessing I will discover what the limit is on the biggest bendable tail using this type of wire (and probably in the "this totally failed" type of way). Thanks all the same!
